Once rendered, a Specification exposes the enableAutoPing()
and disableAutoPing()
methods.
These can be used to enable/disable an automatic 'keep alive' message to the server at a specified interval.
This is useful to prevent Specification timeout when there is no interaction from a user, but the Form remains rendered.
The example Specification rendered on this page uses enableAutoPing()
with the default interval of 30 seconds.
Using Developer Tools will show a KeepAlive
web socket message sent on the interval set.
